Logistics Manager

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee our import processes, including the initiation of Form M, customs clearance, container delivery, and product distribution to dealers across Nigeria. This role requires a strategic approach to logistics, transportation, and warehousing.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end import process, ensuring timely customs clearance and container delivery to our facility.

Develop and implement comprehensive logistics, transportation, and warehousing plans.

Collaborate with various stakeholders, including H.O, branches, banks, clearing agents, terminal operators, shipping lines, and government agencies (SON / MAN / Customs). Negotiate when necessary to ensure smooth operations.

Ensure containers are cleared within designated free days to avoid port demurrages.

Coordinate the return of empty containers within the free days to eliminate Shipping Line demurrages.

Efficiently manage warehouse activities, including inventory control, route planning, and shipment processing. Maintain optimal stock levels at all branches and ensure inventory accuracy.

Ensure accurate booking of all liabilities in the ERP system.

Address and resolve issues and complaints promptly to maintain service quality.

Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the operation and warehouse team.

Collect and analyze data to evaluate logistics performance and agent efficiency. Implement necessary improvements.

Ensure timely renewal of all required government permits and licenses.

Ensure compliance with company laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

Proven experience in logistics and import processes.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of government regulations and permits.
