The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Enterprise Product Platform Engineering will transform the way we deliver infrastructure to our business clients. A key construct of EPPE will be the evolution of the IT Product Manager, who will partner with Engineering Domains, Business Aligned Service Delivery organization, DevSecOps Domain and our operational support teams to ensure that IT PMD provides high quality, commercially attractive and timely solutions to support our business strategy.

As the Principal Jira Developer for the Jira Governance Support Team you will collaborate with other IT SMEs and the DTCC Jira user community to ensure the continuous improvement of our Jira implementation. This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications based on the Atlassian Jira platform. This position works closely with project and product managers, business analysts, other developers, and end users to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with DTCC s Jira implementation best practices and standards.

Your Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain DTCC s Jira implementation using its configuration capabilities supplemented by Groovy scripts.
Create custom workflows, fields, screens, permissions, and other Jira configurations to meet business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality, performance, and security.
Support creation and execution of test cases.
Document process using both narrative and diagram artifacts.
Troubleshoot and resolve Jira-related issues.
Manage Jira enhancements and Groovy scripts using source-code control.
Mentor other Jira developers.
Stay up to date with Jira developments and new features.

Qualifications:

Minimum 6-years experience as a Jira developer creating and maintaining Jira configurations, automation of complex workflows as well as scheduled and event-based automation.
Minimum 3-years experience Groovy programming in support of a Jira implementation.
In depth knowledge of Atlassian Jira with the focus on all aspects of the Jira Data Center configuration.
Experience with the Data Center Jira API (Application Programming Interface) and REST (Representational State Transfer) API.
Experience with all functions of the ScriptRunner plugin.
Proficiency in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle including project planning, analysis, design, development, and unit-testing.
Proven experience in software development using CI/CD tools.
Familiarity with different software development methodologies and philosophies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
Platform: Linux (servers); Windows (work environment).

Encourage and embrace positive change and influence others to adapt to change by demonstrating the execution of new concepts and ways of working.
Demonstrate persuasive communication skills with a special emphasis on two-way communication - hearing feedback and articulating reasoning for changes.
Assist team in validating process solutions, upgrades, and conversions.
Demonstrate reliability and be accountable for independent completion of assigned projects, processes, and programs by taking necessary actions to continuously meet required deadlines and goals.

Other Qualifications:

Experience with Jira Cloud.
Experience with the Jira Software Development Kit (SDK) and ability to write plugins for Data Center and Cloud.
Experience with integrating other tools/data using Jira Services.
Jira certification (e.g., Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator).
Experience with Linux and Relational Data Bases.
Experience in Financial industry a plus.
Bachelors or Master s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
