Data Scientist

Client: R&D center of a major European leading Petroleum and Energy company (Total energy).

Location: Navi Mumbai.

Start: Start in November 2024- Contract duration: 12 months renewable with a possible to be internalized.

Mission & Responsibilities.

Perform statistical and data analyses to support lab teams: method validations, design of experiments, interactive data visualizations, statistical interpretation of results.

Apply data science analyses on specific R&D project datasets: dataset preparation and quality checks ; data visualization ; unsupervised exploratory analysis ; predictive model building.

Communicate results and findings to multidisciplinary R&D project teams and discuss next steps.

Write reports on work performed ; document software code.

Hold the role of ?data steward?: help teams apply our entitys Data Governance, apply and teach recommended data management practices.

In close association with our entitys data engineers, monitor and develop labs data management infrastructure: automated instrument data capture flows, data visualization services.

Experience.

MSc in data science, applied mathematics, computer science, data engineering or software engineering.

At least 5 years of experience applying statistical and data science analyses to scientific data, in close coordination with experimental teams.

Advanced skills and experience in experimental data analysis: statistical method validation, design of experiments, unsupervised learning, statistical modeling.

Good knowledge in physics and chemistry, and a marked interest to work on scientific topics.

A prior experience applying Data Governance rules in an organization.

Proven ability to work with and, ideally, develop data engineering systems: automated data flows (ETLs), data warehousing.

Prior experience with IT system administration would be a plus.

A strong taste to work in multidisciplinary teams and projects.

A proven ability to communicate clearly in international teams.

Experience working on LIMS software Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Knowledge of Python is a plus.

Experience on visual analytics tool such as Spotfire is required.
