Lab Chemist

Job description:

• Conduct regular quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products within the food industry standards.
• Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures and documentation specific to food industry regulations.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards during processing and packaging stages.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues through comprehensive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Perform internal audits to verify compliance with food industry regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration to ensure accurate testing results.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing requirements in the food industry.
• Train and supervise lab technicians on quality control procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of quality control tests, results, and corrective actions taken.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes in the food industry.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to food quality and safety.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
• Implement and maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in the lab environment as per food industry guidelines.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies to ensure product quality and stability.
• Assist in the development and review of product specifications and standards for the food industry.
