DriveX - Software Development Engineer - Test (3-5 yrs)

Job Overview :

We are seeking a motivated SDET with strong experience in Python and Playwright to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have a background in software development and testing, with a focus on building, implementing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and performance of our applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop test strategies and execute test plans.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and Playwright.

- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand application requirements and identify areas for automation.

- Execute test cases and document test results, identifying, troubleshooting, and reporting bugs.

- Participate in code reviews and maintain test scripts, ensuring consistency with established automation frameworks.

- Work closely with CI/CD processes to integrate automated tests, improving test coverage and reliability.

- Contribute to the development of QA processes, including creating test plans and defining testing strategies.

- Track quality metrics such as defect density and open defect counts, providing clear insights to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Experience : 3+ years in a QA or SDET role, focusing on automation testing.

- Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Python.

- Automation Tools : Hands-on experience with Playwright.

- Testing Frameworks : Familiarity with any of the following - Pytest, Unittest, or similar frameworks.

- CI/CD Tools : Knowledge of Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.

- Methodologies : Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.

- Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with other test automation tools like Selenium or Cypress.

- Exposure to API testing frameworks, such as Postman or Rest Assured.

- Experience with performance testing tools.

- Knowledge of BDD tools like Cucumber or Gherkin.
