DIC India - Senior Manager/Deputy General Manager - Technical Manager - UV & LED Inks (15-25 yrs)

Role : Technical Manager UV & LED Inks ( DGM / Senior Manager)

Location : Noida RTC Centre

Position Summary :

- The Technical Manager will lead the development and optimization of UV & LED inks within our R&D division, ensuring that products meet evolving market demands for performance, sustainability, and compliance.

- The role also includes driving value engineering projects aimed at delivering cost reductions and spearheading innovations with brand owners and packaging companies to create cost efficiencies or new business opportunities. Additionally, the role will address complex technical problems, including quality complaints, and work to improve manufacturing and quality control processes in Blend centres and plants.

- This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and manages a dedicated team of four at the Regional Technical Centre (RTC).

Key Responsibilities:

1. R&D Leadership & Strategy:

- Lead the development of innovative UV & LED inks, from concept to commercialization.

- Develop and execute an R&D strategy aligned with company business goals and advancements in ink technology.

- Stay updated on trends and emerging technologies in UV & LED ink formulations to drive the innovation pipeline.

2. Value Engineering & Cost Reduction:

- Lead value engineering initiatives within the Product Group to achieve cost reductions without compromising quality.

- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and material efficiencies.

3. Innovation & Collaboration with Customers:

- Drive innovative solutions in collaboration with brand owners and packaging companies, focusing on cost

efficiencies or business growth for DIC.

- Partner with sales and technical service teams to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable

product development goals.

4. Complex Problem Solving & Quality Resolution:

- Resolve complex technical issues raised by customers, including quality complaints, by identifying root causes and

implementing effective solutions.

- Review and continuously improve manufacturing processes and quality control standards in Blend centres and

plants.

5. Formulation & Product Development:

- Formulate high quality UV and LED inks meeting customer specifications, regulatory standards, and performance

benchmarks.

- Conduct experiments to enhance formulations or develop new products, emphasizing performance, cost efficiency,

and sustainability.

- Work closely with production teams to scale up formulations, ensuring consistency and cost-effectiveness.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Sustainability:

- Ensure all products meet industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.

- Track global regulatory changes and adapt products to maintain compliance.

7. Project Management & Documentation:

- Oversee the documentation of R&D processes, testing protocols, and product specifications.

- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring they align with company objectives.

- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate product advancements and challenges to

stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: M.Sc. /B.Tech. /M.Tech. in Polymer Science

- Experience: 15+ years in ink formulation and development, with a focus on UV and LED inks. Experience with

competitors like Siegwerk, Sakata Ink, Toyo, Huber, Huhtamaki, Flint, Hitech Inks, or the paint industry is preferred.

- Skills: Expertise in UV & LED ink chemistry, curing technologies, rheology, adhesion science, color science, and

substrate interactions, with hands-on experience in modern analytical instruments.

- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, fostering creativity and high performance within the team.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a capacity for analysing and resolving complex technical issues.
