Design Engineer

Candidate Profile:

• 2-5 years of experience in the field of Machine Design and Automation.
• Preferred design experience in fixtures, SPM machines, pneumatic-based SPM, conveyors, and pick & place systems.
• Experience in 3D part modelling and assembly systems using SolidWorks.
• Experience in 2D drafting with GD&T using SolidWorks.
• Experience in aluminium profile selection and structure assembly.
• Experience in selecting LM rails, bearings, pneumatic cylinders, etc.
• Experience in selecting suitable engineering materials based on application requirements.

Job Description:

• Understand design requirements from the application engineering team and clients.
• Collect all necessary information and inputs required to start design activities.
• Develop concept designs based on the technical requirements of the project or machine.
• Guide the selection of third-party components such as motors, sensors, actuators, bearings, couplings, etc.
• Select and download 3D files for standard elements as per the machine requirements.
• Create complete 3D models of machine parts and sub-assemblies.
• Perform detailed design of the complete machine using professional modelling skills.
• Create 2D drawings of the machine with required information and submit them to clients.
• Prepare design approval documents, such as layouts, pneumatic & electrical circuit drawings, cycle time charts, etc.
• Conduct Design Approval Process (DAP) with the internal team and clients.
• Prepare the complete Bill of Materials (BOM) for the machine.
• Initiate the purchase of BOM components by making indents with technical specifications.
• Prepare 2D drawings of machine parts with proper GD&T.
• Release 2D drawings for manufacturing, including required data files (STEP files, DWG files, etc.).
• Coordinate with the vendor department and suppliers for technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with the electrical design team for the design and release of control element mountings.
• Prepare complete technical documents, including test charts, ballooning drawings, assembly drawings, etc.
• Hand over complete technical documentation to the assembly team and coordinate further actions.
