Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 coders (and growing!) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that Corporate Bank support are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology support these businesses through CIO aligned teams and also by 'horizontals' such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.

Surveillance & Regulatory:Surveillance and Regulatory Technology is responsible for delivering solutions that protect the banks financial and reputational interests from potentially criminal or inappropriate behaviour by our clients, employees, vendors. It enables the bank to manage its compliance to regulations and the risk appetite to stay in business in the various legislation. In addition, the function, is responsible for driving improvement across the IT delivery cycle through adoption of best practices, automation tooling and metrics, as well as developing a target state DevOps capability.

Backend Java Developer
DB is looking for a seasoned engineer able to make us better at designing and building. We found out that the best way to build a long-lasting product is to have a group of very competent engineers that exchange ideas, work together and complement each other.You need to be able to do system design as well as low level coding.
The ideal colleague understands the pitfalls of distributed systems and has very good knowledge of technologies as Kafka, JMS (MQ specifically), Spring framework, REST APIs, Relational Databases.
You need to be able to come with creative solutions and brings arguments for those solutions but also listen to feedback and incorporate it within your solution when it proves to bring benefits. You should be comfortable to walkthrough your ideas to variety of technical or business stakeholders, and also guide other colleagues in implementing the solution. We do believe in walking the talk, so you need to have solid engineering mindset backed by zeal to continuously learn and adapt to the emerging technical stack.

Design and build java applications as per design principles and standards

Guide other colleagues through the implementation process

Build automation tests

Deploy applications through the environments all the way into Production

Be on call for Production Incidents

Your skills and experience

Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer-Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent

Total 9+ years of experience in IT industry with exposure to software development

Strong interpersonal & communication skills

Good team player

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (analyses the technical defect, identify the root-cause, and provide workaround/permanent solution)

Must Have Skills

Good experience with Java 11+

Ability to design and build distributed systems / microservices in a resilient, reliable way with low latency

Ability to test your application through and out

Develop microservices using REST API

Strong experience in developing containerized applications using Docker

Knowledge of working with OpenShift/Kubernetes or other containerization products

Willingness to share your experience and explain your technical decisions to less experience engineers or non-technical colleagues

Have a DevOps/SRE approach when designing/building the applications

Willingness to learn what you dont know from your colleagues or on your own

Working knowledge with relational databases

Spring boot, spring core, spring data JPA

Experience of using cloud platforms ( preferably GCP)

Nice to Have Skills

Messaging technologies - Kafka, MQ

Knowledge of NoSQL DBs
