Architect Design Authority Governance

Role Description

Reporting to the Principal Infrastructure Architect, you will assist in the governance of design authorities across various product lines within DB. As a junior architect, you will be working closely with the principal architect and other design authorities, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of our architectural standards, ensuring alignment across infrastructural and application domains, while facilitating smooth collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced all-rounder who has exposure to more than one infrastructural domain including Compute, Storage, Networks, Kubernetes, Database and Security and has worked in a large Corporate within one or many of these functional domains and has had responsibility for strategy, design, or architecture within those roles.

We are looking for someone with strong infrastructure background and who is eager to broaden their architectural expertise and contribute to a structured governance model.

Your key responsibilities

• Assist in oversight and governance of multiple design authorities, ensuring they adhere to defined architectural principles and guidelines
• Act as a liaison between design authorities and architecture resolving conflicts, ensuring alignment and facilitation communications across cross-functional teams
• Support the principal architect in developing and enforcing standards, best practices and templates ensuring consistency across design authorities
• Help document decisions, processes and standards ensuring compliance across all DAs
• Assist in identifying architectural risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement in the governance model and across design authorities

Your skills and experience

Essential Skills

• Strong experience of working within an Infrastructure function within a large enterprise. Preferably with a strong understanding of the data center construct
• Working understanding of Public Cloud technologies
• Strong understanding and experience of virtualization technologies including hypervisors and container platforms.
• Working understanding of modern networks designs
• Excellent communication skills, formally and informally as well as written and verbal

Preferable Skills

• Experience of the Google Cloud Platform
• Experience of TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Demonstration of leadership in facilitating collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.
• Collaboration in a team while being happy to multitask across multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously
• A curious, innovative mind-set that is comfortable and confident to challenge the status quo
• The ability and experience to navigate around a large corporate organisation and able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the Corporate Ladder
• Experience of working in a Financial Services organisation, familiar with Risk Control Frameworks and the Regulatory Regime the bank operates in
