The key purpose of this role is to support the Capital Actuary - XLB (UK-based) in ensuring that the risk profile of XL Bermuda (XLB) is adequately modelled and communicated via an internal capital model that reflects the BMA standards.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

- Supporting the application process to obtain a BMA-approved internal model for XLB.

- Post approval, support the ongoing development and use of the internal model for XLB.

- Production and review of model inputs and outputs including data manipulation, reconciliation tasks, running sensitivity tests and justifying their appropriateness for the entitys exposure where necessary.

- Support the engagement with the BMA on the ongoing use and development of the internal model.

- Assist in the production of such written reports and quantitative output as may be required in the communication and validation of the Capital Model.

- Respond to queries or ad-hoc investigations regarding the capital or underlying risk position of the entity.

- Ensure governance processes are appropriately followed and data quality standards are met.

- Production and maintenance of model documentation to a sufficient standard to meet regulatory and professional demands in respect of any activity carried out.

- You will report to Capital Actuary - XLB, UK.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Highly numerate and analytical with good academic record.

- A self-starter with outstanding organizational skills.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills preferably with experience in VBA.

- Coding skills in R, or other packages, preferable.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

- Willingness to learn and take on tasks outside areas of prior experience.

- Knowledge of capital modelling is beneficial, but not essential.
