Roles & Responsibilities
- Key words- customer order fullfilment, ERP, Inventory mgmt, problem solving
- Manage the Tool room operations and provide Fixtures/tools support to production team.
- Maintain on time delivery of fixtures/Tools to continue smooth operation.
- Prepare and maintain preventive Tool/Fixture maintenance and calibration plant to keep good health of tools/fixtures
- Maintain Fixtures/Tools consumable to avoid production delay.
- Maintain 100% traceability of each Tools/Fixtures to ensure smooth production
- People management to ensure shift wise production support
- Work with supplier to take support for Fixture/tool maintenance.
- Provide technical support to recover fixtures/tools deviations.
- Provide dispositions for fixture non-conformance.
- Maintain reports of the activities of the tooling department and Apprise Management on Regular basis.
- Identify the materials and equipments requirement for the functioning of Tooling department and raise request for the same in consultation with Management.
- Develop low cost automation solutions to support productivity and quality improvements.
- Support Robotics and Automations programs for Tubes & Ducts by developing necessary tools and fixtures and participate in projects.
- Calculations and target settings of tools for all current and new processes, support for cost analysis of tools for new projects
- Lead tooling team & guide suppliers on technical topics for new tool development
- Technical supplier assessment for technology & development regarding tooling quality, delivery reliability, problem management in co-operation with procurement team
- Monitoring tooling audits progress at supplier end & timely closure of open topics.
- Process monitoring for timely sampling inspection and production start-up at suppliers together with purchase and Quality team, potential preface of optimizations during development and series.
- Evaluation and modification in tools as suggested by the development department for customer projects as well as of series production.
- Dimensioning and optimization of current serial processes and new processes (tooling and process concepts).
- Evaluation and support of the purchase team for tooling re-locations. Main lead for the Tool buy off of tools at supplier end for new development and Refurbishment.
- Preparation of concept proposals regarding part design and part production regarding available procedures in the market i.e. product workshops. Implement best practices.
Skillset: Hands on experience in Tool Design Engineer (Unigraphic Must, CATIA Optional ) Current Min 4 years, Press tool, Machining Fixtures, Fabrication Inspection
Design, Manufacturing Processes, Tool Validation
Qualification & Other requirements
- B Tech/BE / ME/ M-Tech - Mechanical/Production/Tool Engineering
- Certification in Tool design courses.
- 8-12 years Experience of which 4-7 years should have Fixture design, Stamping, Casting & Machining, Press Tool, Machining Fixtures
- Hands on Experience in Design and Manufacture of tools is a must using UG (Mandate), CATIA.
- Should be well versed with engineering drawings. (Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Should have worked for the Aviation / General Manufacturing (Power, Oil Gas or Heavy Industry)/ automotive industry.
- Preferred software knowledge with forming technology (Analysis software like Pam- stamp)
- Trouble shooting during Trials is (necessary/must) to support our daily production and Project timings
