Associate Manager- Design Engineering

Objective:

This position would be a part of the Application Engineering Team of A&I and would be supporting worldwide business of A&I in all regions namely APAC, China, EU, NAM. The team handles New Product Development & other Engineering functions. The team is also responsible for local and global SAP activities related to A&I. Purpose of this role is to support Application Engineering as well as New Product Development of A&I (RCC). This position will impact the critical applications of A&I products for valves for screw compressors used in applications such Oil Injected (Stationary/Portable), Oil Free Screw and Water Injected Screw compressors.

Role & responsibilities :

• Application Engineering of suction, discharge, control & oil line valves of Screw compressors.
• Work closely with Global teams for project execution related to Oil injected, oil free, water injected screw compressors .
• Site visits for data collection and troubleshooting of valves to provide suitable solution.
• Creating proposal drawings for suction, discharge, control & oil line valves of Screw compressors screw compressors.
• Liaising with different Compressor OEMs to understand their requirements and offer suitable solution.
• SAP Bill of material creation and SAP material management of HIPL.
• Ensure IMS process adherence.

Preferred candidate profile :

• A Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering with a first class from a reputed university.
• Minimum 12 to 14 years of experience in mechanical industry, preferably in Screw compressors of type oil injected, oil free, water injected and gas applications.
• In-depth knowledge of design of valves of screw compressors like suction valves, Minimum pressure valve, pneumatic regulators, oil stop valve, check valve etc.
• Selection of materials of sealing materials, wear & corrosion resistant materials for various applications of screw compressors.
• Selection of material, heat treatments, coatings for compatibility with various process gases.
• Good understanding of International standards for Screw compressors in Process gas, Oil & Gas industry like PED, ASME
• Hands on experience of testing and performance validation of screw compressors.
• Hands on experience on solid modeling software Autodesk Inventor, Vault
• Basis knowledge of ERP system /SAP/Vault.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis for Structural FEA, CFD of software like ANSYS.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to field as this job will require customer visits for various purposes.
