VP Operations
Job Overview:
- The VP Operations will oversee and manage the demand, supply, and planning functions to ensure optimal product availability and efficient supply chain operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in a product-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Demand Planning:
- Develop and implement new forecasting methodologies.
- Analyse historical data, market trends, and customer insights to forecast future demand.
- Collaborate with marketplace and product teams to align demand forecasts with business strategies.
- Monitor demand patterns and adjust forecasts as needed to meet changing market conditions.
2. Supply Chain & vendor management:
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement to distribution.
- Establish and drive relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance supply with demand while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Identify and resolve supply chain issues, including disruptions or delays.
3. Planning and Optimization:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for inventory management, production scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Drive initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels.
4. Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align operations with business objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on demand, supply, and planning metrics to senior management.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the supply chain.
5. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team by providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative high-performance work environment.
- Ensure team members have the necessary resources and training to perform their roles effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- 8-10 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on demand planning, supply chain management, and strategic planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes and driving operational improvements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
