Solution Lead/Architect - Data Protection (5-15 yrs)

Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Solution Lead and Architect to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of data protection solutions across a wide range of environments.

You will lead the integration of backup and recovery solutions, ensuring high levels of availability and security.

Your expertise will help drive the adoption of best practices and the evolution of our data protection strategy using industry-leading technologies such as Veeam, Commvault, Veritas Netbackup, and Rubrik.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and architecture of data protection solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.

- Develop end-to-end data protection solutions, leveraging backup/recovery tools, storage protocols, and cloud platforms.

- Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime in case of a failure.

- Design and implement high availability (HA) architectures and cross-data center replication at the application or storage level.

- Integrate data protection solutions into existing enterprise infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations across diverse environments.

- Demonstrate proficiency in backup/recovery software and purpose-built backup appliances (PBBAs).

- Hands-on experience with Veeam, Commvault, Veritas Netbackup, Rubrik, Data Domain, and other similar technologies.

- Expertise in integrating data protection solutions with storage protocols such as Amazon S3 and other cloud storage platforms.

- Experience with hybrid cloud, multi-cloud, and on-premises data protection strategies.

- Lead the delivery of data protection projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

- Work closely with project managers to align on project scope, resources, and timelines.

- Oversee solution deployment, configuration, and testing to ensure high availability and performance.

- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in backup and recovery processes to ensure successful outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 5-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3-5 years in a solution architect or leadership role focused on data protection solutions.

- Extensive hands-on experience with backup/recovery technologies such as Veeam, Velero, SODA Kahu, Commvault, Veritas Netbackup, Networker, and others.

- Experience working with Purpose Built Backup Appliances (PBBAs) like Veritas Netbackup Appliance, Data Domain, Rubrik, Cohesity, etc.

- Strong knowledge of cloud storage protocols such as Amazon S3 and how they integrate with on-premises and hybrid cloud backup solutions.

- In-depth understanding of data protection, backup, recovery, and storage technologies.

- Strong experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

- Hands-on expertise in data replication, high availability, and failover mechanisms across geographically dispersed data centers.

- Familiarity with cloud-based data protection, including multi-cloud environments.

- Strong proficiency in solution integration, understanding both the technical and operational aspects of integrating backup/recovery solutions with enterprise systems.

- Experience with automation tools, scripting (e.g, Python, PowerShell), and infrastructure as code (eg., Terraform, Ansible) is a plus
