Minimum years of experience - 5+ years
Nature of experience - Automotive, experience in eProdpulsion / eDrives
Position summary: The successful candidate will work in a global context environment, on local and global programs, closely with release teams and other functional groups; he/she will be able to perform the very preliminary concept analyses on ePropulsion Systems with a multiphysics approach, setting the ground to meet customer requests eg durability, efficiency and NVH. He/She will be involved in all phases of product development with main focus on concept phase, working together with other colleagues of each simulation area, providing guidance on driveline system; he/she will proactively support issues detection and management as well as develop solutions to meet performance objectives and timelines of various programs.
Main responsibilities: The candidate will deal with complex ePropulsion systems mainly performing 0d-1d concept analyses, gathering and managing inputs from different stakeholder; making evaluations and providing assessments on the whole system. In particular he/she will: Define and create models of ePropulsion System (eMotor + PIM + Gearbox). Perform 0d-1d data driven analyses, interpreting and converting simulation results to design recommendations. The ability to model the physical, dynamic behavior of a system into a mathematical lumped parameter model that can be simulated. This is typically done in simulation software such as MATLAB Simulink, Simcenter Amesim, GT Suite etc., and is the main enabler for the driveline application analysis. Can perform model correlation with the real system through thorough analysis of the measurement data and tuning of a defined set of model parameters. Write technical reports and present them to local and global stakeholders. Manage and coordinate activities at system level in cooperation with the team to develop and optimize products. Support definition and development of calculation guidelines, methodologies and best practices.
Professional background: 5+ years of relevant experience in 0d-1d data driven simulations is expected. Automotive industry background is required, experience in ePropulsion / eDrives is preferred.
Hard skills: Essential: o Broad knowledge of automotive engineering design, mechanics and materials. Strong theory and hands on experience in muliphysics domain. Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink/Amesim or similar. Powertrain and Driveline experience is required; eMotor and Inverter basics. Fluent English. Considered a plus: o Multiphysical approach and good understanding of EDU Performances Knowledge in programming for automatization and scripting.
