Lab Engineer

• Execution of prototype building using Mechanical workshop equipment such as 3D Printers, CNC milling, lathe and other hand tools as per the laid down SOP/WI, Protocols, Having good knowledge of EHS documentation.
  • Planning of jobs in case of multiple projects running simultaneously.
  • Assisting Designers/Engineers in prototype finishing activities.
  • Good understanding of EHS documentation
  • Understanding of the SOP/WI.
  • Knowledge of 3d Printers & CNC will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills
• Operate and maintain equipment as per the requirements.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain equipment s calibration (both internal / external)
• Preparing the equipment s work instructions / SOPs.
• Preparing the documentation required for EHS Audits.
• Participate in root cause investigation exercise.
• Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.
• Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Carrying out other routine tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience of 5+ years in EHS Documentation, prototyping activities preferably at Medical device/Automobile sector
• Working knowledge of EHS Documentation, CAD/CAM software, CNC Programming, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT).

An experienced professional with knowledge and application of EHS Documentation, prototyping machines procedures, and practices. Interprets company policies and procedures to resolve issues. Beginning knowledge of industry practices and standards.

Planning and Organization

Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule with guidance from manager. Documents maintenance, operations, repairs, material consumption of machines and maintains these documents for internal and external audits.

Receives general supervision. Makes recommendations which may be reviewed by the manager. May exercise authority within limits. May seek guidance in resolving problems.

Impact

Participates in the completion of departmental prototyping needs. Reduces downtime of machines by following regular maintenance schedules and timely attention to machine breakdowns.

Engages with internal company and occasional external contacts. Uses discretion, diplomacy and tact in interactions.

Mentoring

Mentors interns and junior lab associates.
