CAD Drafter - Electrical & Instrumentation

JOB DUTIES

Essential Duties

• Drafter shall process the information provided by a Project Engineer for the assigned project. Confirm that provided information provides a clear direction for the design intent and can be utilized for accurate CAD deliverable.
• The drafter shall be competent in creating:
  • Control Panel Design Drawings
  • P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Drawings)
  • Loop Diagrams
  • Network Architecture Drawings
  • Instrument Install Details
• The drafter shall take conceptual rough plan mark-ups and vendor drawings to create final design plans.
• The drafter shall be able to design and map out engineering drawings including panel layout and interconnection drawings and schematics.
• The drafter shall be competent in scaling mechanical drawings.
• The drafter shall be competent with Revision Clouds and Triangles/Notes.
• The drafter shall create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for all equipment associated with the panel design.
• The drafter, in concert with the Project Engineer, shall perform design review from third party contractor or client for supplied equipment and implement this equipment into the design as applicable.
• The drafter shall ensure accuracy of the completed CAD drawings before submitting the drawing package for Quality Review.
• The drafter shall have the ability to revise drawings (Revision Control) based on submittal comments or field red-lined drawings and generate accurate updated drawings for resubmittal, IFC, As Built and As Installed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This position requires sitting at a computer desk for multiple hours at a time, bending, stooping, and filing.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Office environment.
• May be required to work remote as needed.
• May be required to work overtime as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational/Experience Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor s degree in electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
• 6+ Years of related experiences in control system engineering work
• Must have a minimum of Four (4+) years of ACADE (AutoCAD-Electrical) experience.

Special Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities

• Must have the ability to work within a team environment to communicate objective and complete tasks on-time and within budget
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs, electrical schematics and one-line diagrams, network architecture drawings.
• Must be proficient in CAD isometric and orthographic views. Must be able to analyze/identify Interference with other fits.
• Must be proficient with ACADE (AutoCAD-Electrical).
• Must be proficient with North American and International Codes and Standards (NEC, IEC, UL).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software especially Excel.
• Possess excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
