IT Technical Analyst

The IT Technical Analyst provides application or infrastructure technical expertise, analysis, and specifications for IT systems to meet business requirements in alignment with Cummins IT architecture policies and standards. This role translates business requirements into technical specifications, creates detailed solution designs, coordinates the construction, installation, configuration, and testing of IT systems, and identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the creation of technical specifications for applications, infrastructure, or complete solutions.
• Assist in technical analysis of potential solutions, evaluating the technical fit and viability of commercial off-the-shelf products versus custom-built solutions.
• Support the delivery of solution designs, adhering to standards and leveraging reusable components.
• Assist in the creation of high-level and detailed designs for infrastructure, applications, interfaces, conversions, extensions, reports, and workflows while meeting architecture, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements.
• Collaborate with technical and infrastructure groups to ensure the solution design and specifications are well understood.
• Participate in formal design reviews and code reviews to ensure adherence to design specifications and coding standards.
• Leverage reusable component designs to reduce costs and shorten delivery timelines.
• Ensure efficiency in build and deployment processes, utilizing automation where possible.
• Assist in developing test strategies and executing the master test plan.
• Contribute to the creation of standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for the IT design and development community.
• Analyze and revise existing systems and documentation to identify improvements or remediation needs.
• Provide Level 3 support for critical issues.
• Work closely with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work meets quality, schedule, cost, security, performance, and scalability requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field, or relevant equivalent experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT technical analysis, development, or a related field.

Knowledge/Skills:

1. Development experience in Thingworx Platform, Thingworx Flow, and Navigate (Things, Services, Datashapes, Mashups, Thing Templates, etc. ).
2. Development experience in Windchill, including configuration and customization.
3. Expertise in Thingworx setup and configuration, SSO, OData Connectors, and two-way SSL Connectors in Flow.
4. Proficiency in Java and JavaScript programming.
