Senior Unified Communication Engineer - VoIP Protocols (5-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Design & Implementation : Architect, configure, and deploy UC solutions (VoIP, video conferencing, messaging, and collaboration tools) for global teams, ensuring seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.

- System Management & Optimization : Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of UC systems, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization of platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and Skype for Business.

- Troubleshooting & Support : Provide tier-3 support for UC-related issues, investigating and resolving technical challenges in collaboration with other technical teams.

- Collaboration & Consultation : Work closely with business leaders, network engineers, and project managers to understand communication requirements and propose suitable solutions.

- Security & Compliance : Ensure that all communication platforms are secure, comply with organizational policies, and meet industry standards.

- Upgrades & Maintenance : Plan and execute software updates, patches, and configuration changes to ensure platforms are up-to-date and resilient.

- Documentation & Training : Create detailed documentation for UC systems, processes, and best practices.

- Provide training and support to internal teams and end-users.

- Vendor Management : Work with external vendors and service providers to manage UC tools and services, ensuring timely resolution of issues and optimal system performance.

Required Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Certifications in UC technologies (e., Microsoft Certified: Teams Engineer, Cisco CCNP Collaboration) preferred.

Experience : Minimum 5+ years of experience in Unified Communications with 4+ years in a senior or lead role, preferably in an enterprise or large-scale environment.

Technical Skills :

- Expertise in UC platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Skype for Business, and related VoIP and video conferencing technologies.

- Experience with SIP, H.323, VoIP protocols, and QoS (Quality of Service) management.

- Proficiency in network design and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

- Familiarity with cloud-based UC platforms and services.

- Knowledge of AV technologies, conference room setups, and remote collaboration tools.

Soft Skills :

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications: Microsoft Certified : Teams Administrator Associate, Cisco Collaboration Specialist, or equivalent.

- Experience in Cloud UC platforms : Familiarity with cloud-based UC solutions like Microsoft 365, Zoom Cloud, or Cisco Webex.

- Global Experience : Experience supporting a distributed, global team across multiple time zones
