Deputy Manager - Production Packing - Injectables

Role & responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Manage and supervise packing operators and packing supervisors during the designated shift.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (GMP, FDA, etc.).
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to packing supervisors and operators to enhance their skills and performance.
• Operational Management:
• Plan, organize, and prioritize packing activities to meet production schedules and targets.
• Monitor production metrics (e.g., output, yield, downtime) and implement strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments (manufacturing, quality control, logistics) to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any operational issues.
• Quality Assurance:
• Oversee quality control procedures and inspections to ensure products are packed correctly, labelled accurately, and meet quality standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of packing processes and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent recurrence.
• Equipment and Maintenance:
• Monitor and maintain packing equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and minimal downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions to minimize production disruptions.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of packing activities, production metrics, and equipment maintenance.
• Generate shift reports and performance metrics to track progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by packing operators.
• Investigate safety incidents or near misses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization within the packing operations.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation among packing team members.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other departments to ensure alignment on production goals and priorities.
• Facilitate regular shift meetings to discuss performance, issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and drive overall business objectives.
