JOB PROFILE:


- The job involves conducting industry and financial research to support clients and contributing to internal knowledge building efforts. Typical projects will involve gathering, analyzing, synthesizing and presenting data using structured methodologies and frameworks. Role involves managing the India team for Transaction Banking, Lending and Securities Services.


Key responsibilities involve:


- Lead a team and help build and maintain models to estimate granular, product level key performance metrics for Investment banks (e.g., Revenue, cost, Risk weighted assets) and create market size estimates for Investment or transaction banking products


- Take complete ownership to explain the market trends, drivers and the reasons for change in estimates/direction of revenues


- Organize, analyze, synthesize and summarise data and information using appropriate analytical methodologies and frameworks. Conduct quantitative analysis (statistical analysis, financial data analysis etc.) as necessary


- Manage and/ or work with a team of analysts while working on multiple projects


- Identify key trends across all regions and products, highlighting areas of out/underperformance


- Craft effective search strategies and gather relevant information leveraging a broad set of resources (e.g. on-line databases, internet, external researchers etc.). Utilize both secondary and primary research sources and techniques


- Model relationships between macroeconomic indicators and IB performance metrics to arrive at\ forecasts/ estimates for the above KPIs


- Update and restructure models based on qualitative and quantitative information from Coalition contacts in the IB industry


- Assist clients and/or other research delivery team members in articulating and refining research requests and projects, while working on multiple projects


- Responsible for day to day workflow management including prioritising and managing multiple projects


- Responsible for all aspects of a project planning, management and delivery


- Coordinate regular meetings with key personnel in London, New York and Singapore, for reviews, and project updates

- Responsible for training offshore new joiners about Transaction Banking products and methodology


- Responsible for coaching and mentoring new joiners in the team


- Client interactions through in-person meetings as well as regular interaction over email and calls (15% - 20% of the time spent)


- Complete ad hoc research requests, knowledge building and business development projects as necessary


- Manage and/ or work with an expanded team of analysts while working on multiple projects


- Foster a cohesive, creative and comfortable working environment, mediating any personal issue within the team


- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of team members providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


- The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes likely to have been gained over three to five years of relevant experience:


- MBA or post graduate degree in business management, statistics, economics or similar analytical fields


- Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA etc. would be an added advantage


- Must have at least 8 12 years of experience in managing a team size of 5+


- Strong quantitative skills, an analytical mind and an ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative


- Ability to take decisions while working with unstructured and limited information


- Prior experience in business research / analytics


- Basic understanding of global Transaction Banking and Securities Services products preferred


- A strong degree of independence and self-motivation


- Fluency in spoken English is essential


- Excellent working skills with MS office tools, especially good at advanced Excel and PowerPoint


- Working knowledge of professional information services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters etc.\ preferred
