Role Description
To manage the Credit Policy and Portfolio for the Private Bank (ex-WM) in India
Your key responsibilities
Credit Policy
- Managing credit strategy for MSME lending primarily for products like Unsecured Business Loans, Loan Against property and Working Capital.
- Additionally managing credit policy for mid- market customers and home loans.
- Working on supply chain finance product, setting up infrastructure to cover policy, process, gating norms and monitor the portfolio performance and thresholds set
- Preparation of Credit Assessment templates, policy notes, KOPs and implementation of various applications.
- Managing risk and credit practice in line with Risk policy framework, banks risk appetite and business requirements.
- Adhering to RBI circulars from time to time on interpretating to same, checking impact of circular on the unit and implementing with requisite approvals
- Engaging with product, legal, compliance to establish risk management standards
- Managing credit authority for underwriters and timely review of same for necessary modifications as may be required.
Portfolio Management
- Managing Fintechs towards ease in processing and with enhanced credit diligence
- Identifying good and bad segments in the portfolio to recognize the risk and take policy action to arrest weaker segments
- Slicing and bisecting data on a regular basis to understand the portfolio performance at a product level, location level, segment level and the probable areas of concerns there
- Bureau engagement towards what is happening in the industry and subscribing to various insightful information on a time to time basis
- Portfolio presentation to various group stakeholders
- Set up restructuring framework and monitor the portfolio for further actions
- Managing timely renewals for working capital customers by setting out necessary processes, digitizing the aspects wherever possible and maintain risk standards.
- Monitor Quick mortality to understand the portfolio quality, sourcing, any learning from the mistakes, if any and if there is a need for any policy revisions to avoid errors.
Audits
- Managing various audits like regulatory audit, group audit, concurrent audit.
- Liasioning with auditors, sharing requisite information, adhering to timelines.
- Ensure closure of findings as per timelines and monitor the effectiveness going forward
Monitoring / EWS
- Complying to RBI requirement on EWS from time to EWS
- Engaging with fintech tracking on going functionalities and towards smoother implementation from time and time
- Understanding market dynamics and enhancing internal systems for making internal system EWS system robust
- Working on both internal and external alerts to get 360 degree view of the customer to pre emp stress in the customer and take timely actions
- Placing watchlist policy, putting the framework in place, tracking cases on a regular basis to monitor the portfolio movement
- Strategy implementation for timely exit of problematic customers
- Engaging with various institutions like CRISIL, CMIE, CIBIL, NSEL, fintechs, valuation agencies, law firms to understand the market dynamics on multiple aspects
- Staff Accountability Review given regulatory requirements and compliance to the same
Your skills and experience
Basic requirements
- Expertise in all aspects and functions of Credit Risk management, both in underwriting as well as policy / portfolio functions; as well as a strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements

Experience
- CA / MBA from premium institute
- 15 years of relevant work experience
