Electrical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive 3D and 2D designs for low and high voltage wiring harnesses, ensuring adherence to EMC standards.
• Select optimal wiring materials, shielding, and protection based on component interactions and environmental conditions.
• Create efficient wiring paths within the product utilizing retainers, channels, and grommets.
• Interpret and create electrical schematics and logical wiring diagrams using design tools.
• Develop detailed 2D harness drawings and formboard layouts for manufacturing.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer requirements, and best practices.
• Design and develop supporting components such as brackets, trays, enclosures, and grommets for harness integration.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.
• Adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and design specifications.
• Utilize PLM systems for efficient engineering data management and change control.
• Implement design changes through BOM updates and engineering change notices.
• Conduct thorough design reviews and present work to internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (Catia/Creo/ SolidWorks/UGNX) & wiring harness design tools (e.g., Capital Harness, E3.series, Zuken E3, or similar).
• Experience in PLM tools (Teamcenter/Windchill)
• Previous experience in the automotive domain.
• Bus or truck domain experience would be a significant advantage for a Wiring Harness Design Engineer
• Understanding of Different Bus/ Trucks Chassis Electrical Sub system Packaging and Installation
• Good in Communication & Technical presentation skills
• Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
