Job Title: HCL Digital Experience (DX) Developer

Location: [INDIA | [Hybrid]

Timing: 12 PM to 8 PM IST (Urgent calls and team meeting may differ slightly here and there, which should be manageable)

Job Description:

We are looking for a HCL Digital Experience (DX) Developer with 5+ years of experience in the development, configuration, and implementation of HCL DX (formerly known as WebSphere Portal) solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating dynamic, responsive web portals, web applications, and collaborative solutions using HCL DX platform.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining custom portal solutions that meet business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and contribute to both front-end and back-end development to deliver high-quality, user-friendly digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Portal Development & Configuration: Design, develop, and configure portal-based solutions using HCL Digital Experience (DX) platform (formerly WebSphere Portal).
• Customization: Develop custom portlets, themes, and templates using HCL DX development tools such as JSR-168, JSR-286, and the latest HCL DX version features.
• Integration: Integrate HCL DX with backend systems, databases, and third-party applications, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure high availability and performance of the portal by fine-tuning performance and resolving issues related to scalability and load balancing.
• UI/UX Development: Work with UI/UX teams to deliver user-centric portal designs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring responsive and cross-browser compatibility.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support for ongoing portal operations, troubleshooting issues, and resolving bugs.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to portal configurations, customizations, and development best practices.
• Testing & QA: Write unit tests and perform thorough testing to ensure that the portal application meets functional, technical, and performance requirements.
• Upgrades & Patches: Manage HCL DX platform upgrades, patches, and hotfixes, ensuring minimal disruption to the portal's functionality.

Technical Skills Required:

• HCL Digital Experience (DX) / WebSphere Portal experience (5+ years).
• Leading and development experience on HCL workflows, Workflow management, Creating new workflows, Workflow customization
• Knowledge of API integration, SSO integration etc in DX
• Expertise in JSR-168 and JSR-286 portlet standards.
• Strong proficiency in front-end web development for DX
• Experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
• Familiarity with Web Content Management (WCM) in HCL DX for content-driven portals.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP, and JSON for integration.
• Experience in Portal Security (user authentication, roles, and permissions).
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and deployment in the HCL DX environment.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or similar) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• HCL DX Version 9.5+ or higher experience.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of J2EE frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide proactive solutions.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
