Finance and Accounts Team Leader

Job Description:
The person will play a pivotal role in managing the companys financial operations. This position involves overseeing the execution of financial tasks, ensuring financial compliance, managing budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and guide junior staff and trainees in daily accounting tasks
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders
• Oversee and manage accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely processing
• Lead tax compliance activities, including filing returns for VAT, TDS, GST, and income tax
• Perform and manage financial analysis, MIS reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies
• Manage cash flow and liquidity management strategies
• Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions
• Assist in setting up financial policies and procedures to optimize processes
• Contribute to the development of financial strategy and business performance analysis
• Monitor and track cost management and cost reduction initiatives
• Support in audit processes (internal and external) and regulatory filings
• Handle more complex financial tasks such as capital expenditure and project accounting
Skills and Qualifications:
• Masters’s degree in Commerce (MCom), Accounting, Finance, or equivalent (CA/CFA certification is a plus)
• 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting
• Strong understanding of tax laws, statutory requirements, and regulatory compliance
• Experience with financial software (Tally,)
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Financial modeling, Pivot tables, etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
• Leadership and mentoring experience is desirable
