Storage Administrator

POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Storage Administrator DEPARTMENT: IT Infrastructure JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform all aspects of SAN administration including planning, installation, upgrading, patching, tuning, support, and troubleshooting. • Assist in the architecture of storage arrays to provide a highly scalable, highly available SAN structure which provides storage for in-house applications. • Work closely with application development teams and systems administration to test, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing database-driven applications. • Monitor production, test, and development database environments and actively pursue any issues limiting the performance and scalability of these systems. • Effectively and professionally interact with customers, clients and Verscend employees. • Must be willing to carry a cell phone, be on-call and occasionally work odd hours to help meet customer service level agreements. • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned. • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. O SAN Fabric administration and maintenance (Brocade, Cisco MDS) O Backup technologies including CommVault, Rubrik, Veritas, Networker, Data Domain O Multipathing (MPIO) technologies on various platforms (Windows/Linux/Solaris). • Knowledge of database technologies, including MSSQL, Oracle 11g RAC, ASM, RMAN, and experience supporting enterprise database applications. • Understand virtualization technologies, VMware, Citrix and OpenStack is a plus. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. • Dedication to work and willingness to work hard under pressure in a team environment.
