Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Retail Sales Officer to join our team, focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) clients. The Retail Sales Officer will be responsible for driving sales, establishing relationships, and providing financial solutions tailored to the needs of SME/MSME businesses. This role requires a deep understanding of retail banking products, services, and MSME-specific needs, with a strong focus on customer acquisition and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Business Development:
  • Identify and acquire new SME/MSME customers through various channels (cold calling, networking, referrals, etc.).
  • Understand the unique financial needs of SME/MSME customers and offer suitable banking products, including business loans, working capital solutions, term loans, insurance, and other banking services.
  • Maintain a solid pipeline of prospects and convert them into active clients.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for SME/MSME business acquisition and revenue generation.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing SME/MSME clients, ensuring their needs are met and providing ongoing support.
  • Regularly follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Offer advisory services and provide personalized financial solutions based on a deep understanding of the client’s business.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs in the SME/MSME segment.
  • Identify potential growth areas and new business opportunities within the SME/MSME sector.
  • Monitor changes in government policies, regulations, and financial guidelines related to SMEs/MSMEs to ensure compliance and informed selling.
  • Product Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Provide expert advice and explanations regarding banking products and services, including loan structures, repayment options, interest rates, etc.
  • Educate clients on digital banking platforms and tools that can enhance their business operations.
  • Sales Reporting and Administration:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress towards targets.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales achievements, pipeline status, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with the operations and credit teams to ensure smooth processing of loan applications and documentation for SME/MSME clients.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Post-graduate degree or professional certification in finance is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in retail banking or sales roles, preferably with a focus on SME/MSME clients.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business development in the banking sector.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of SME/MSME financial products and services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport and trust.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and offer tailored financial solutions.
  • High degree of self-motivation, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in using banking software, CRM systems, and MS Office Suite.
