The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. PURPOSE STATEMENT:
This position plays a crucial role in data management, strategy, and system improvements within the Global Logistics Organization (GLO). The individual will enhance reporting capabilities, identify trends and insights, and provide actionable recommendations to drive business performance. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop solutions that transform and simplify work processes. The individual will also support programs to develop, operate, and enhance Corning s global logistics digitalization strategies.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics digitalization and data management
o Clean, correct, standardize, and harmonize logistics data to drive quality improvements.
o Maintain standard documentations, such as logistics data dictionary, message integration guide (MIG) and standard work instructions that describes data, sources and processes.
o Measure data quality, monitor compliance, support performance improvement activities.
o Serve as administrator for the Global Logistics spend visibility platform(s), transportation management system, freight audit and payment solutions, and other digital tools.
o Explore and develop ways to automate processes and integrate with other systems to improve productivity within the organization.
Global Logistics Reporting
o Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to manage key performance indicators.
o Drive the automation, standardization and centralization of Logistics reporting.
o Perform market benchmarking and analytics to support logistics sourcing and management.
o Track overall GLO performance (Capability Milestones, Shared Objectives, Savings, etc)
o Collaborate with Business Logistics Managers and GLO Core Services Leads to maintain the Global Logistics Savings Portfolio and support annual Blackbook budgeting process.
o Maintain the global logistics spend report and develop standardized reports on logistics spend, volume and service.
o Support key initiatives of Global Logistics Organization (GLO), Global Supply Management (GSM) and business supply chain initiatives.
Education & Experience
Bachelor s degree. Major in Business, Logistics Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management. An MBA is an advantage.
Required Skills
Proven record of minimum 3 years experience in data mining, analysis, reporting. A background in logistics industry is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data visualization tools (PowerBI/Flows/SharePoint) is required.
Proficiency in VBA, Python, SQL and experience with SAP S4 Hana, Databricks is an advantage.
Resourceful and capable of working with large datasets to drive key actionable insights.
Result-oriented with excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving & communication skills.
Collaborative skills for working with global stakeholders and across functions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
