Data Quality Executive

Role & responsibilities

• Review, clean, and validate large datasets against original sources to ensure accuracy and consistency across different data points, such as store openings/closings, retail sales trends, and company financial data
• Implement and follow data quality control measures to ensure datasets are complete, accurate, and in compliance with internal standards and guidelines
• Regularly audit data processes to identify errors, inconsistencies, and gaps. Work proactively with relevant teams to resolve issues and improve data collection methods
• Partner with research and analytics teams to support data needs, ensuring that data is accurate and ready for publication in reports and databanks
• Assist in the maintenance of databanks/data warehouses/databases, ensuring that data is up-to-date and well-organized for ease of access by internal teams
• Create and maintain clear documentation of data sources, validation processes, and quality control measures to support operational transparency
• Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and assist with compiling datasets for specific research projects related to the retail industry
• Recommend and help implement process improvements for data collection, entry, and validation to streamline operations and enhance data quality

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong understanding of data validation techniques and quality control processes
• Proficiency with data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, placer) and data management platforms
• Experience working with retail industry data is a plus, including metrics such as sales data, market trends, store performance, and company financials
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with research and technical teams
• Strong communication skills for reporting data issues and working with cross-functional teams
