Role Overview

As a Senior Resident in Medical Oncology, you will provide comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with cancer, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of treatment-related side effects. This role requires a deep understanding of oncological principles, patient management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Perform thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as imaging studies, biopsies, and laboratory results.

Treatment Management: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and manage treatment-related side effects.

Education and Training: Participate in the education and training of medical students, interns, junior residents, and allied health professionals. Facilitate bedside teaching rounds, case-based discussions, journal clubs, and didactic lectures to enhance clinical reasoning skills in oncology practice.

Scholarly Activities: Engage in clinical research, translational studies, quality improvement projects, and educational research. Design and conduct research studies, including prospective trials, retrospective analyses, and observational studies, in collaboration with faculty mentors and research teams.

Leadership and Professionalism: Demonstrate leadership qualities, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of clinical practice, teaching, research, and interpersonal interactions.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the medical oncology team, other healthcare providers, hospital administrators, and support staff to promote collaboration, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications:

MD or DNB in General Medicine or Radiation Oncology.

Strong clinical practice skills.

Leadership and management abilities.

Experience in teaching and education.

Commitment to research and scholarly activities.

Dedication to professional development.
