Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with over 7 years of experience in the oil & gas sector to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with 3D modeling and design software such as E3D and SP3D, and a proven track record of working on onshore and offshore projects in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 3D electrical designs using E3D and SP3D for onshore/offshore oil& gas projects.
• Design and model cable tray systems, conduit layouts, and cable routing in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Create electrical equipment layouts, including switchgear, transformers, substations, and power distribution panels.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Ensure compliance with electrical design standards, codes, and regulations such as IEC, NEC, and API.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, electrical single line diagrams (SLD), and other relevant engineering documents.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation) to ensure design consistency and clash-free models.
• Participate in clash detection reviews using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Offs (MTO) for electrical components.
• Ensure designs are aligned with project timelines and quality standards.
• Support construction teams with design clarifications and as-built drawings.
• Conduct regular design reviews and provide input for design improvements.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical design within the oil & gas sector.
• Proficiency in E3D (Aveva) and SP3D (Smart Plant 3D).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other relevant design software is a plus.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards (IEC, NEC, API, etc.).
• Experience in onshore, offshore platforms, refineries, or other oil & gas facilities preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
