GIFT City Principal Officer
Qualification & Background:
- We are seeking a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and/or MBA with 10-15 years of work experience as a finance, investment or operations or compliance professional with general management capabilities to operate as the Principal Officer of the branch.
- An experience of at least five years in related activities in the securities market or financial products including in a portfolio manager, broker dealer, investment advisor, wealth manager, research analyst or fund management.
- An ideal candidate for this position would be someone who has held mid to senior position in a similar profile in the large/medium size asset manager / financial institution.
Roles & responsibilities:
1. In charge of the Gift city office of the Fund Management Entity with AUM of ~ $200 m and assigned as principal officer.
2. Part of Investment Committee of Fund management Entity and ensured adequate governance structures for the funds.
3. Build and implement processes and systems to ensure smooth functioning of the set up.
4. Lead and facilitate interactions with the Board, Audit Committee, and other committees.
5. Run projects related to AIF and other product launches.
6. Apprise all with the status of projects, products, and compliance with respect to the regulatory requirements and assist them to make an informed judgment on whether the business is managing its operations effectively.
7. Oversee and manage banking operations and treasury of the funds launched in Gift city. Institutionalised processes around banking activities to ensure no settlement failures.
8. Work with the Compliance Officer and review and ensure timely and accurate submissions of various regulatory filings.
9. Monitor regulatory changes, assess impact on business, provide comments on consultative papers and act as a Nodal point of contact between the Company and the IFSCA and to be a participant to the consultations or other regular discussions with IFSCA.
10. Facilitate establishing an audit program for the gift city funds.
11. Ensure that the currency risk of the fund is hedged appropriately of the funds.
12. Handle escalations related to investor queries on the fund performance, onboarding documentation etc.
13. Liaise with SEZ, IFSCA and other stakeholders on regular basis.
14. Assess changing regulations and proactively highlight potential risk areas and implement solutions accordingly.
