Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Kitchen Stewarding Team:
   
• Lead, train, and manage the kitchen stewarding staff, ensuring high performance and productivity.
• Schedule shifts for stewards to ensure proper coverage and operational efficiency.
• Ensure team adheres to all safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
2. Cleaning and Sanitation:
   
• Oversee the cleaning of kitchen utensils, equipment, dishes, and food preparation areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the kitchen.
• Ensure all cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely in accordance with safety guidelines.
3. Equipment and Inventory Management:
   
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils are properly cleaned, sanitized, and in good working condition.
• Keep track of inventory and order necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and report any issues for repair or replacement.
4. Waste Management:
   
• Manage proper disposal of food waste, garbage, and recyclables in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste materials to minimize contamination and environmental impact.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
   
• Ensure that the kitchen stewarding area complies with all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct regular safety training sessions for all team members.
6. Coordination with Kitchen Staff:
   
• Work closely with the kitchen chefs, cooks, and other staff to ensure efficient flow of work and to prioritize tasks.
• Assist with the proper storage of food items and cleaning of kitchen areas after each meal service.
7. Reporting & Documentation:
   
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inventory levels, and equipment conditions.
• Report any operational issues or staff performance concerns to management promptly.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in kitchen stewarding or in a similar supervisory role in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, kitchen equipment, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry heavy items (e.g., boxes of dishes, cleaning supplies, etc.).
• Ability to work in hot and humid environments.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in kitchen stewarding or a related field preferred.
