Collections Manager/ Receivables Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections Manager / Receivables Manager to oversee the management of accounts receivable for our specialty chemical distribution company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collections, ensuring timely payments from customers, and maintaining accurate records of outstanding receivables. You will play a key role in managing cash flow, minimizing payment delays, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable Management:
• Accountable for the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and collections
• Monitor and manage aging reports, identifying overdue accounts and escalating issues as needed.
• Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment discrepancies and customer disputes efficiently.
• Customer Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with representatives of key customers to facilitate smooth collections processes and resolve any payment-related concerns.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers with overdue accounts, negotiating payment terms or settlements where appropriate.
• Ensure customer inquiries are handled professionally and in a timely manner, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction while protecting the companys financial interests.
• Reporting and Analytics:
• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable performance, including aging reports, DSO analysis, and collections forecasts for senior management.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement in collections and receivables management.
• Provide recommendations for improving cash flow and reducing payment delays risk based on the analysis of account histories.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate in any discipline. A professional certification (e.g., Credit and Collections certification) or a background in Commerce preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or credit management, preferably in a specialty chemicals or pharmaceutical industry environment.
