Assistant Design Engineer_Draughts

Your expertise in attention to detail and collaborative skills will ensure your success as a Pattern Design Engineer. You will be responsible for designing accurate patterns and gauges according to foundry specifications, preparing gauge drawings and checklists, and working closely with the methods team to create mounting layout drawings.

You will leverage your expertise to design crucial gauges for validating casting profiles and critical dimensions, as well as create detailed gauge drawings. Moreover, you will play a key role in reviewing and drafting Engineering Change Notes (ECN) and Process Change Notes (PCN) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with methods and pattern shop teams to enhance pattern designs. Responsibilities include leading Cross-Functional Team (CFT) meetings to finalize designs, managing project timelines, coordinating with vendors for pattern quotations, and collaborating with pattern vendors to develop CAD models and secure manufacturing approval.

With acute attention to detail in meticulous documentation management, you will supervise drawing revision control and document management.

With your strong analytical skills, identify and recommend resource requirements for current and future work plans. Ensure timely FAT pouring is aligned with new product development schedules, prioritize schedules to minimize lead times, and oversee design team improvements.

Key Technical Criteria

• Preferred experience in Foundry or Pattern Shop designing pattern and core boxes.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting, especially in SolidWorks or NX, and familiarity with FEA is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
• Strong capability to work independently and within a team environment
