JobOverview:
The Senior Mainframe Developer will spearheadthe design and development, maintenance, and support of mainframe applications,bringing extensive expertise and contribute to strategic initiatives within theteam.
He / She will be instrumental in implementingcomplex Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps processes forPL/I applications while mentoring the team in adopting new technologies.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the development, coding,testing, debugging, and documentation of mainframe applications which are of high-quality,and scalable.
Lead and oversee the Implementation of automatedContinuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deploymentpipelines for Retail Domain projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship tojunior developers and support team members.
Collaborate with Technical Architects,Functional Analysts, and Business Process Analysts to grasp projectrequirements.
Review low-level designs and code while ensuringadherence to organizational standards and provide guidance to the team.
Actively contribute to strategic planning anddecision-making processes.
Participate in rotations for providing neededrun time technical support for Production PL/I applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams toanalyze requirements and design efficient solutions.
Lead efforts in optimizing and modernizingexisting mainframe systems.
Drive process improvements and efficiencyenhancements.
Coach the team to enhance their proficiency innew technologies.
Ensure project deliverables comply with ProjectManagement methodologies.
Stay updated with emerging technologies andindustry trends, implementing best practices.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree in computerscience, Information Technology, or related field.
12-15 years of hands-on experience in mainframedevelopment.
Skills and Abilities:
Extensive expertise in mainframe technologiessuch as PL/I, JCL, VSAM, and CICS.
Advanced understanding of database systems,particularly IDMS & DB2, and related tools.
Proficient with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git,Artifactory, and Jira.
Expertise in developing pipelines for CI/CDprocesses.
Experience in working with different IDE\u2019s,particularly IDz.
Skilled in conducting Impact Analysis andWork Package Estimation for complex PL/I applications.
Should be well-versed in SOAP and REST conceptsand have experience in developing RESTful services.
