About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead and manage our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven history of managing high-performing teams.
In this role, you will drive the technical vision, strategy, and execution of engineering initiatives, delivering scalable, reliable, and innovative software solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership :
- Provide strategic direction and technical guidance to the engineering team throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential for implementation.
Team Management :
- Build and nurture a high-performing engineering team by attracting top talent and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Set clear expectations, mentor team members, and provide professional growth opportunities.
- Ensure effective communication within the engineering team and with cross-functional departments.
Project Planning and Execution :
- Collaborate with product management, design, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines for successful delivery.
- Proactively monitor progress, address potential risks, and implement corrective measures.
Quality and Innovation :
- Foster a culture of quality and innovation, adhering to engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Promote the adoption of efficient engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management :
- Align engineering efforts with business goals by collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management and design.
- Serve as a bridge between the engineering team and executive leadership, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
- Cultivate relationships with external partners, vendors, and customers.
Requirements :
Education :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preference for graduates from Tier-I engineering colleges.
Experience :
- 6+ years of software development experience with a knack for improving user experience.
- Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, managing large-scale software development projects.
Technical Expertise :
- Strong background in software engineering, architecture, and design principles.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in software development.
Leadership Skills :
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Experience hiring and training junior developers.
- Problem-Solving and Communication
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills for navigating complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for conveying technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
