Cobol Developer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs for banking applications using COBOL compiler.
  
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues related to program execution, data processing, and system integration.
  
• Troubleshoot complex problems using debugging techniques and tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  
• Develop shell scripts on Unix platforms to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 0-4 years of experience in COBOL development with a strong understanding of its syntax, structure, and programming concepts.
  
• Proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries for database interactions with DB2 or similar systems.
  
• Experience working with UNIX operating systems and ability to write shell scripts for automation tasks.
  
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
