Mid-level - Senior Android Engineer:

What we are looking for:

An experienced Android Developer to join our team.

In this role, you will be a part of our Engineering team and play a significant role in helping build, enhance and support our Android mobile applications that are a part of our powerful facilities management platform.

You will work very closely with our design, product, QA and customer support teams to build user-friendly, performant apps for Android phones and tablets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mobile applications using Kotlin, Java and Android Studio.
• Integrate with backend Rest API services and APIs to provide a seamless user experience.
• Collaborate with Product Mangers, designers using tools such as Jira, Figma, Invision to translate requirements, wireframes and designs into responsive, high-quality code.
• Actively participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure industry standards code quality and application performance.
• Strictly Adhere to and follow Software Development life cycle workflows leveraging Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Work with version control systems like Git, Bitbucket for codebase management.
• Stay up-to-date with Android development best practices, emerging trends and help adopt them into our products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of solid experience in Android mobile app development using Kotlin, Java and Android Studio with a proven track record of delivering high quality, performant apps.
• Experience with basic native Android SDK components such as Activities, Fragments, Receivers, Services.
• Experience with Android SDK Jetpack suite of libraries, Kotlin co-routines and Flows.
• Experienced in architectural design patterns such as MVVM.
• Demonstrable Experience with code injection frameworks like Dagger/Hilt.
• Experience with Android UI/UX design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs using libraries such as Retrofit.
• Proficiency in version control using Git and Bitbucket/Github.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly detect and resolve critical production issues.
• Comfortable with CI/CD processes and tools such as App Center, Bitrise.
• Very good communication skills, versatility in multi-tasking and working in a fast paced environment.

Nice to have skills:

Experience with image processing with Open CV library.

Experience using Jetpack Compose to build UI.
