Research & Development (R&D):

The R&D / Production Manager will be responsible for leading the formulation and development of nutraceutical products, including tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids. This role also involves managing the production process to ensure efficiency, compliance with quality standards, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will bridge R&D and production operations, ensuring seamless scaling from laboratory to full-scale manufacturing.

1. Formulation Development:
• Design and develop innovative formulations for tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids in the nutraceutical segment.
• Optimize product formulations for efficacy, bioavailability, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Product Testing and Stability:
• Conduct stability studies and trials for new formulations.
• Evaluate raw materials and active ingredients for quality and compatibility.
3. Scaling-Up Processes:
• Ensure smooth transfer of R&D formulations to production by establishing robust processes.
• Collaborate with the production team to resolve scaling-up challenges.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Prepare technical dossiers and documents for regulatory submissions.
• Ensure products meet industry-specific regulatory guidelines (e.g., FSSAI, FDA).

Production Management:

1. Production Oversight:
• Plan, organize, and oversee the manufacturing of tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory standards.
2. Team Management:
• Supervise and train production staff, ensuring alignment with quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth operations.
3. Process Improvement:
• Monitor production efficiency and implement process improvements to reduce costs and enhance output.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
4. Quality Assurance:
• Collaborate with the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams to ensure product consistency and compliance.
• Oversee documentation for batch manufacturing records, SOPs, and process validation.

Key Skills and Competencies:

1. Strong expertise in formulation development for nutraceuticals and related products.
2. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes like tablet compression, encapsulation, liquid filling, and powder blending.
3. Familiarity with FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements in the nutraceutical industry.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in scaling up formulations for commercial production.
5. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in documentation and preparation of technical reports, dossiers, and regulatory submissions.
7. Knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
