cKinetics - Associate - Sustainability Finance (2-6 yrs)

Position title: Associate - Sustainability Finance

Reporting to: Senior Associate or Engagement Manager

Work Type & Schedule: Full time; Permanent role;

Work Location: Okhla, New Delhi; Field travel for client projects

cKinetics is looking for an energetic Associate who is passionate about the Sustainable Finance space and looking to be a part of the team that does meaningful cutting-edge work.

The candidate would be part of the Sustainability Finance practice, with a special focus on areas related to Green/Climate Finance and/or Sustainable and Responsible Investing. The Sustainability Finance team at cKinetics provides research and strategic advisory in the areas related to Climate Finance, ESG-related

corporate risks /disclosures, and cleantech investments to help build the business case for Sustainability by constructing models that capture financial flows and financial impact on businesses/investors

Key responsibilities:

1. Sector and Industry Research:

- Undertaking primary and secondary research independently as well as mining data to build the business case in Sustainability related areas including but not limited to Corporate ESG disclosure, investor portfolio assessment, sustainability finance, green/ climate finance, and sustainability and responsibility investing (SRI)

- Identify the areas for Primary and secondary research parameters for the allocated tasks and extract relevant information from reliable data sources

- Identify patterns, and trends in the data to draw inferences and conclusion

2. Project delivery:

- Developing impactful and world-class written and oral presentations - Prepare reports with various data insights, trends, patterns, etc after requisite analysis derived from the structured/unstructured data collated through the research phase

- Collaborating with the project/ internal teams- Senior Associates/ SEM/EM in devising a cohesive solution for client's projects/ problem/ Program/ product

- Delivery support to enable engagements to be completed in a timely and cost-effective manner and with requisite client delight Project Monitoring and Time Management

- Adhere to the given Task completion Timelines by Self-monitoring and also aligning Analysts for successful project completion

- Must use the Internal /company Project Management/ Time Management tools /software in day to day working to record own time utilization towards respective project/s

3. Project Monitoring and Time Management:

- Adhere to the given Task completion Timelines by Self-monitoring and also aligning Analysts for successful project completion

4. Project Site Visits / Field Visits:

- Undertake Onsite/ On-ground field or site visits for assessing and gathering real-time ground realities for having verified data and information

Candidate Requirements:

- The ideal candidate must have the desire to work in Sustainability Finance and Sustainability transition interventions and must have the following mindset and skills sets:

- Proactive and independent person with a demonstrated passion as relates to sustainability

- Flexible and creative mindset; curious and creative individual able to understand quickly the complexities of the client organization's products and markets

- Strong analytical abilities and excellent presentation skills

- Well acquainted with financial modelling and project finance essentials

- Developed spread-sheet based models as a part of your work; or worked on R

- Ability to work 'hands-on' and multi-task in an energetic environment

- Ability to present and discuss the research and findings to a high-level audience and industry experts

Academic qualifications & Experience:

- MBA /Master's degree / CFA Level III certification and a desire to work in the Sustainability space

- Must have relevant 2-3 years of experience in consulting: either management consulting or market research in Finance, ESG, Climate Finance and Carbon Markets
