Python/PyQt and C++ Desktop Application Software Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Developing desktop python and pyQt applications used by design engineers
• Developing C++ code applications used by design engineers
• Code reviews, debugging
• Collaborating with software Architects in order to identify new requirements
• Implementing logic for communication with other systems
• Writing automated tests and testing implemented tool
• Writing documentation that describes tool's architecture and operation
• Work flexibly in an international team

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field with affinity for electrical engineering/microelectronics
• At least 3 years of proven experience with Python object-oriented programming, PyQt, and C++
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git) and bug-tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Bugzilla)
• Strong experience working in Linux environments (bash)
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Excellent communication and coordination skills both written and spoken in English

Considered a plus:

• Experience developing application with mixed Python and C++ codebases, leveraging PyQt for GUI development
• Understanding of Python-C++ interoperability
• Ticket system, Jira/bitbucket
• Testing platform knowledge - Robot Framework
