Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and manage a national general trade sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team sales targets. Foster a high-performance culture and promote a collaborative, results-driven environment.
  • Distribution Management:
    Oversee the general trade distribution network and optimize sales channels to ensure efficient product availability and timely delivery to customers across the country. Implement strategies to improve coverage, depth, and quality of distribution in GT markets.
  • Key Account & Relationship Management:
    Develop and maintain strong relationships with general trade partners, distributors, and retail channels. Negotiate contracts, manage trade terms, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Market Analysis & Strategy:
    Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs within the general trade landscape. Identify new business opportunities, refine product positioning, and adjust pricing strategies to stay competitive and drive growth.
  • Market Research:
    Conduct regular field visits, gather on-the-ground insights, and perform market research and analysis to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior and distribution patterns, ensuring agility in the go-to-market approach.
  • Sales Forecasting & Budgeting:
    Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and targets in collaboration with senior management. Accurately predict demand, allocate resources effectively, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
    Track and evaluate sales performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to address shortfalls and capture opportunities. Continuously refine sales processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the general trade channel.
  • P&L Management:
    Oversee profit and loss accountability for assigned general trade customers. Optimize profitability by managing costs, pricing, discounts, and trade investments, while balancing customer satisfaction and market share growth.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    Prepare regular sales reports, including market share data, profitability analysis, and key performance indicators. Present findings to senior management, offering data-driven recommendations for improvements and strategic adjustments.
  • Training & Development:
    Identify skill gaps within the sales team and implement targeted training and development programs. Enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement skills to maximize salesforce capability and performance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate with internal stakeholdersmarketing, operations, finance, and logisticsto ensure seamless execution of go-to-market strategies. Align initiatives and resources to achieve common objectives and deliver superior value to customers in the general trade channel.
