Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (preferred)
- Valid certification in industrial safety and risk management
- Certification in lean manufacturing or six sigma (preferred)
- 8-13 years of experience in the copper industry
- Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role
- Demonstrated track record of successfully leading teams and driving operational excellence
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the copper section, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production targets
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and motivation
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production processes, minimize downtime, and enhance overall efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical issues, implement process improvements, and drive continuous innovation
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and corrective actions
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the reliability and availability of equipment and machinery
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the section
