The Brownfield Project Engineer sits within the Chevron ENGINE Facilities Designs Engineering team and supports Chevrons Refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets
This role is responsible for maturing Brownfield projects from Opportunity Shaping / Initial Concept Development through Detailed design
This role is a part of the Brownfield Project Engineering team that oversees several projects, and executes activities such as Decision Support Packages and reviews, Decision Quality Guidance, Health and Safety Screening, Technical Safety / Risk Studies, Functional Safety Reviews, Project Operations Plan, Risk and Interface Management, and Project Engineering Plans
Key Responsibilities
Supports a portfolio of small projects through concept development and selection, FEED, and detailed design
Lead the development of KDS (Key Decision Sheet) and DSP (Decision Support Packages)
Develop Vendor assurance and lead the develop of cost and schedule estimates
Ensure engineering and construction & fabrication deliverable and activities are clearly identified
Coordinate EWP (engineering work packages) and CWP (construction work packages)
Lead larger projects by forming multi-discipline and cross-functional project teams and driving delivery through all phases of project delivery
Engages key stakeholders in the development of appropriate cost and schedule estimates using risk ranges and uses project controls effectively to manage spend and project delivery against budget and plan
Accountable and responsible for project schedule and costs and maintains overall accountability for delivering project quality, cost and schedule outcomes
Define and manage project stakeholders effectively including engaging decision makers and joint venture partners for high quality decision making
Delivers small projects using the Chevron small project delivery system
Support the Management of Change process and ensure requirements are met to commission the change
Engages appropriate stakeholders to define OE, operations, Maintenance and Reliability, regulatory, requirements applicable to projects
Integrates stakeholder requirements in the project plan and delivers the intent of all requirements
Identifying key improvement opportunities for the Project Toolkit and championing competitive performance
Required Qualifications
10+ years experience in project management in the Brownfield environmentworking knowledge of project management and must have a growth mindset with the ability to implement innovative solutions to challenging situations across the BU
Preference for brownfield execution in Complex Facilities (LNG, Refineries etc.)
Project execution knowledge and experience:good understanding of Project Management fundamentals and budgeting processes to facilitate team activities
Bachelors degree in relevant engineering discipline- mechanical, chemical, process, instrumentation, electrical, civil (B.E./B.Tech.) from a recognized (AICTE) university
Experience in executing brownfield projects in complex LNG facilities and Refineries is preferred
Preference for PMA (project management institute) accreditation
