Academic Counsellor

1. Student Guidance and Counseling:
- Offer one-on-one counselling sessions to students to assess their academic needs, goals, and challenges.
- Assist students in selecting suitable academic programs, majors, and courses based on their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
- Provide detailed information about various academic programs, admission procedures, and available scholarships.
- Address students concerns and queries related to academic progress, course requirements, and examinations.
- Conduct periodic progress reviews to identify students who may require additional support or intervention.

2. Academic and Career Planning:
- Facilitate academic planning sessions and assist students in creating personalized academic plans.
- Help students explore career opportunities related to their chosen fields of study and guide them in making informed career decisions.
- Conduct aptitude and personality assessments to support students in identifying their strengths and interests.
- Collaborate with faculty members to ensure students receive appropriate academic guidance and resources.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in different industries to provide relevant career advice.

3. Personal Development and Mentoring:
- Foster a supportive environment for students personal growth, emotional well-being, and overall development.
- Conduct workshops and seminars on student success strategies, time management, stress management, and study skills.
- Direct students towards resources and support services available on campus, such as mental health services, tutoring, and career development centers.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance students resilience, self-motivation, and personal effectiveness.
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, building strong relationships and ensuring their holistic development.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related fields.
- Proven experience in academic counseling, student advising, or career counseling in an educational or similar setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals, including students, faculty, and parents.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with educational counseling software and tools would be advantageous.
