Position Title: PPC Manager
Department: Production Planning and Control (PPC)
Location: Ahmedabad
Reports to: Production Manager / Operations Manager

Position Overview:

The PPC Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the production planning, scheduling, and control processes for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical machinery. This role involves ensuring that all manufacturing processes are executed efficiently, meeting the required standards and deadlines while adhering to the regulatory and quality compliance standards of the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning:
   
• Develop, implement, and manage production schedules for pharmaceutical machine manufacturing.
• Coordinate with sales, production, and inventory teams to ensure on-time delivery and adequate stock levels.
• Analyze customer orders and demand patterns to plan production volumes, ensuring timely deliveries.
2. Production Scheduling & Monitoring:
   
• Oversee day-to-day production activities and ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Prepare detailed work schedules and monitor production timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Adjust production schedules as necessary to address issues such as machine downtime, material shortages, or staff absences.
3. Inventory Management:
   
• Coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials and components required for manufacturing.
• Ensure efficient use of materials and manage scrap reduction initiatives.
• Perform inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between system and physical counts.
4. Coordination & Communication:
   
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met during production.
• Communicate production schedules and changes to relevant teams and departments.
• Address any production-related issues or delays and propose corrective actions.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
   
• Ensure production processes comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements specific to pharmaceutical machine manufacturing.
• Conduct regular quality checks and liaise with quality control departments to meet product standards and specifications.
• Prepare necessary documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
6. Process Improvement:
   
• Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies to reduce waste and optimize production processes.
• Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) and propose corrective actions when targets are not met.
7. Team Leadership:
   
• Lead, train, and motivate the production planning team to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
• Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback for career development and skill enhancement.
• Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Production Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or additional certifications in production planning (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in production planning and control in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or machine manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge:
  
• Strong understanding of production planning, inventory control, and scheduling techniques.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and quality standards.
• Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other production planning tools.
• Skills:
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Certifications: PMP, Six Sigma, APICS, or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with standard working hours.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Some travel may be required for coordination with suppliers or to meet with customers.
