Engineer Calibration & Testing

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engine Calibration and Optimization:

• Develop and implement engine calibration strategies for performance, emissions, and fuel efficiency.
• Conduct data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation to optimize engine parameters.

2. Testing and Validation:

• Perform engine testing on dynamometers and in-vehicle to validate calibration settings.
• Utilize simulation tools to predict and optimize engine behavior under various operating conditions.
• Troubleshoot issues and refine calibrations to meet design objectives.

3. Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure engine calibration meets regulatory emissions standards (e.g., CPCB, BS VI, Euro 6).
• Prepare documentation for compliance certification and support homologation processes.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze engine performance metrics and create detailed technical reports.
• Recommend design changes to improve engine performance or resolve issues.

5. Tool Development:

• Develop and maintain software tools and scripts for efficient calibration workflows.
• Ensure proper integration of tools with existing hardware and software platforms.

6. Collaboration:

• Work closely with design, control systems, and testing teams to achieve project objectives.
• Collaborate with component suppliers and external agencies for technical development.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or masters degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 4-7 years of experience in engine calibration, testing, or control systems.
• Proficiency in engine testing and calibration tools like INCA, AVL PUMA.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of combustion engine fundamentals.
• Knowledge of emission regulations and standards (e.g., BS VI, Euro 6).
• Familiarity with fuel systems, turbochargers, and after-treatment systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and project management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Mechanical, Electronic, hybrid or electric powertrains.
• Hands-on knowledge of CAN communication protocols and diagnostic tools

Work Environment:

• Laboratory-based engine testing and calibration.
• Occasional travel for vehicle testing and field validation.
