Key Responsibilities: Year-End NTR (Notice to Reader) Engagements: Prepare and complete year-end financial statements for clients in compliance with Canadian GAAP. Conduct analytical reviews, compile data from client records, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Review Engagements: Support review engagements by conducting detailed variance analysis, ratio analysis, and ensuring compliance with Canadian Assurance Standards (CAS). Assist with gathering and validating supporting documents from clients to substantiate figures and financial data. Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and finalize financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and notes) for client approval. Conduct comparisons of prior periods and budget versus actual figures, highlighting key insights and variances. General Ledger (GL) and Account Reconciliation: Review client GL and perform reconciliations for key accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and receivable. Investigate discrepancies and ensure ledger accounts are accurate and balanced. Audit Support and Documentation: Prepare supporting documentation, schedules, and working papers in compliance with Canadian CPA standards. Assist in assembling client documents for audit purposes and respond to auditor queries as needed. Tax Compliance and Adjustments: Post tax adjustments as per the Canadian tax regulations, under the guidance of senior team members. Assist with tax reconciliation and prepare supporting schedules for corporate tax filings. Client Interaction and Reporting: Communicate with Canadian clients for clarifications and additional information (via email or scheduled calls during PST hours). Draft concise and professional financial reports for presentation to clients and assist senior team members in client meetings. Software Usage: Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or CaseWare, and Microsoft Excel. Adapt quickly to new accounting systems and software relevant to Canadian accounting standards. Qualifications. Chartered Accountant (e g CPA, ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) OR CA Inter. Experience 3-5 yearsexperience in a multi-international organization. Working knowledge of country-specific GAAP (e g UK, US, Canada) including IFRS a plus. Knowledge of CaseWare considered a plus. Basic understanding of local taxation rules in particular sales tax (e g Vat for UK, GST/HST for Canada) a plus. Proficient in double-entry bookkeeping concepts. Strong math and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Must work standard hours of the location supported. Ability to work to strict and tight deadlines.
