CFA Institute are looking for a Research Specialist, Capital Markets, this exciting role supports the impactful work of our Research and Advocacy division, focusing on India and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
As a Research Specialist, Capital Markets, you will contribute to the development and promotion of capital market policy content and advocacy efforts, championing market integrity, investor protection, and professionalism in the industry.
In this role, you will monitor market and regulatory developments, conduct in-depth policy research, and prepare background materials and analyses to support regulatory consultation responses. Additionally, you will liaise effectively with local member societies and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and engagement on policy initiatives as appropriate.
What You'll Do. Content Development and Research. Crafting insightful reports, presentations, and other materials tailored for key stakeholders, including regulators, industry professionals, and CFA societies, to promote capital market policies and advocate for positive change.
Leading or supporting projects on critical local and regional market issues, contributing to our mission of improving the investment industry.
Stakeholder Engagement. Building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators, Thinktanks, trade associations, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and inform the policy dialogue.
Assisting local CFA societies in preparing research papers, drafting consultation responses, and contributing to thought leadership on capital market trends.
What Were Looking For. Education & Experience:. Masters degree (preferably in finance, business, economics, or law).
CFA charter holder or candidate preferred.
1-2 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets research, or financial regulation. Experience with regulators or financial institutions is a plus.
Skills & Expertise:. Exceptional communication skills, including persuasive writing, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
A strong interest in Indian and APAC financial markets, with a clear understanding of how market developments are reshaping the investment industry.
A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Ability to use standard Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to a high standard.
Background in using data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g. Python) preferred.
Additional Requirements:. Fluency in English is essential.

This role is based in India with remote, hybrid working options available.
